Trailer Registration
What does trailer registration include?
We register your trailer and obtain the registration and license plate (and title, where applicable for the jurisdiction). We prepare and submit the paperwork, then deliver the issued registration and plate details. State fees and taxes are billed at exact cost.
Do I need trailer registration?
Every trailer used on public highways must be registered in a base state. Dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tank trailers, chassis — each requires title work and plate registration. If your trailer is not registered, DOT can fine you and take (impound) the trailer.
Can you register my trailer in a different state than where I live?
Yes — your trailer's base state doesn't have to match your home address or where the trailer sits. Choosing a base jurisdiction is routine for us; we handle the paperwork and the local office.
Do you handle titles, transfers and lost or duplicate titles?
Yes. New titles, title transfers on a bought or sold trailer, and replacements for a lost, damaged or unreadable title — we prepare and file all of it.
How fast is trailer registration?
Most registrations and renewals are done in a few business days, once we have the title and vehicle details. Title work that goes through the base state's DMV can take longer — we tell you before we start.
Do you need trailer registration?
You need this if
- You put a trailer on public highways — every one has to be registered in a base state, whatever it hauls.
- You bought or sold a trailer and the title has to move with it.
- Your title is lost, damaged or unreadable and has to be replaced before the trailer can be registered or sold.
You do not need this if
- The trailer never leaves private property: yard equipment that stays off public roads does not need highway registration.
- It is already registered and current in its base state, and you are not buying, selling or replacing anything.
A trailer’s base state does not have to be where you live or where the trailer sits — choosing a different one is routine.
Trailer Registration & Renewals
We obtain the registration and license plate (and title if required), prepare and submit the paperwork, and provide the issued registration and plate details. Renewal handled annually with no missed deadlines.
Title Work
Title transfer, duplicate title (lost / damaged / never received), salvage title transfer, and out-of-state title transfers. We coordinate with the previous owner, lien holder, and DMV.
